Will You Accept the Challenge?
Northies,
I like the sign at the airport that says, “If you see something, say something.” I get it! It’s easy to understand that if I see something odd, I need to alert authorities.
In the days ahead, when you catch a colleague doing something that contributes to a positive culture in your station, I want to ask you to point it out. Say something. Thank them. Emulate them.
Examples may be:
When they boldly share their faith with listeners or callers;
When they bring joy to the workplace, even when working through a challenge;
When they handle conflict biblically, going first to the person with whom there is disagreement; or
When they display humility in the midst of a significant accomplishment
Building a healthy culture at your station is not one person’s responsibility, it is everyone’s. Beth Wilmeth, accomplished head Volleyball coach at UNW (who by the way are #5 in the country), said to our managers a couple of weeks ago, “Culture is like a baby. You have to feed it every day and you can never take your eyes off of it.”
Thanks for doing your part!
